The NOC of Latvia has made major progresses on gender equality thanks to its National Strategic Action Plan.

Promoting gender equality at all levels within the daily operations of sports organizations and the sports environment as a whole is one of the priorities of the Latvian Olympic Committee in the coming years. Within the framework of the Erasmus+ project "GAMES," a Strategic Plan for Promoting and Strengthening Gender Equality has been developed.

Gender equality plays a crucial role not only in creating a fair and inclusive society but also in developing the potential of women and men. A society where women and men, girls and boys, are given equal opportunities to freely develop themselves, improve, pursue their chosen paths in life, and have equal opportunities to be members of society is one of the main objectives of the plan.

The strategic plan includes various activities aimed at raising public awareness and educating society, primarily focused on changing mindsets and breaking stereotypes. To advance more strategically and effectively, the Gender Equality Commission of the Latvian Olympic Committee has been established. The goal of the commission's activities is to ensure gender equality in all aspects of the LOK's operations, promoting equality and preventing discrimination.
